Dato’ Dr Mahendra Raj is a Consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He graduated in medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1982 and trained in internal medicine and gastroenterology in Glasgow. His thesis on the morbidity of intestinal helminthiasis earned him a Doctorate research degree from the University of Glasgow. He has published extensively on the morbidity of intestinal helminthiasis and on aspects of Helicobacter pylori infection. He is a Past president of the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and has served on national panels including the credentialing sub-committee of the National Specialist Register for Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
