Dr Lai Wai Kwan earned his medical degree from the University of Sheffield in England in 1993. He completed five years of specialist training in Gastroenterology and then spent another five years sub-specializing in Hepatology at Birmingham, UK, which houses one of Europe’s largest Liver Transplant Units. During this time, he treated patients with general and transplant hepatology conditions, focusing on acute liver failure and viral hepatitis. Dr. Lai manages a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, with special interests in liver failure, viral hepatitis, and liver transplantation. He also performs therapeutic endoscopy and ERCP and conducts research on adaptive and innate immunity in liver disease patients.
