Prof Jimmy So is a Senior Consultant Surgeon and Head of the Division of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at National University Hospital, and also leads the Division of Surgical Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore. He is a Professor at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and serves as Associate Director at the Cancer Institute. Prof So specialises in surgical oncology and minimally invasive procedures for gastric and esophageal cancers. He founded the Upper GI Tumour Group in 2005 and has pioneered advanced techniques such as POEM and PIPAC to enhance recovery, reduce pain, and improve surgical outcomes.
