Dr Harish Mithiran is a senior consultant thoracic surgeon at Neumark Lung & Chest Surgery Centre at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in the diagnosis and surgical management of lung and chest conditions, with expertise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery.

Academic Qualifications

Dr Harish completed his medical school in 2004, and after completing his basic surgical training, he joined National University Hospital Singapore in 2009, where he began his training in cardiothoracic surgery.

His medical qualifications include:

• MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
• MRCSEd – Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
• FRCSEd (CTs) – Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• MFSTEd – Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
• FAMS – Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore

Clinical Expertise

Dr Harish is a specialist focusing on the field of thoracic surgery since 2014. He has performed over 2,500 thoracic surgery operations. As a forward-thinking surgeon, Dr Harish performs many new lung surgery techniques, including Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (U-VATS), Robotic Assisted Thoracic Surgery (RATS), lung localisation techniques and navigational bronchoscopy.

Dr Harish was the Associate Program Director for the Cardiothoracic Residency program from 2015 to 2021 and has always been passionate about training the next generation of Asian cardiothoracic surgeons.

Dr Harish, a key opinion leader in the field of thoracic surgery, rib fractures and chest wall surgery tumours, is a council member for the Chapter of Cardiothoracic Surgeons Singapore and the treasurer for the South East Asian Thoracic Society.
