Dr. Mark Fernandes is a senior gastroenterologist at gutCARE Digestive Liver Endoscopy Associates with a focus on liver disease. He graduated with honours from the University of Edinburgh and completed his residency and gastroenterology training at the National University Hospital in Singapore. He pursued advanced fellowship training in interventional hepatology at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan and gained further experience in liver transplantation medicine at King’s College Hospital, London. Dr. Fernandes was the first gastroenterologist in Singapore to perform radiofrequency ablation for liver cancer and played a key role in establishing the Liver Tumour Ablative Service at NUH in 2009.
