Dr Henry Cheng is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist widely known for his expertise in high-risk pregnancy care. Renowned for his deep expertise in high-risk pregnancies, Dr Cheng provides comprehensive care for women facing complications such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and genetic risks during pregnancy.

A pioneer in fetal medicine, Dr Cheng was instrumental in the development of the OSCAR test, the internationally recognised first-trimester screening for Down syndrome. This early prenatal test is now widely adopted worldwide and has helped millions of mothers with early, non-invasive diagnosis of chromosomal abnormalities.

Trained under Professor Kypros Nicolaides, founder of the Fetal Medicine Foundation, Dr Cheng contributed significantly to research that laid the foundation for the OSCAR test. He further advanced his academic research in University College London and the University of Nottingham, producing multiple publications in fetal medicine and prenatal screening.

Before entering private practice, Dr Henry Cheng served as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where he also led the Fetal Medicine Division. During his tenure, he played a key role in training medical specialists, mentoring junior doctors, and conducting public education through national health forums and medical conferences. In 2015, Dr Cheng was instrumental in establishing the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Division at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, where he continues to contribute to clinical leadership as the Chair of the O&G Special Interest Group.
