1. What services does The Breast Clinic offer?
The Breast Clinic offers a comprehensive spectrum of breast-care services: screening (mammogram, ultrasound, MRI, genetic risk assessment), diagnosis of breast abnormalities, specialized treatment, including breast-conserving surgery, breast reconstruction (oncoplasty), sentinel node biopsy and management of benign breast conditions, and post-treatment support / life-after-cancer restoration programmes.
2. Who leads the clinic and what is his expertise?
The clinic is helmed by Dr Anthony Tang, a specialist breast-cancer and oncoplastic surgeon. His clinical interests include breast-conserving surgery, breast reconstruction (oncoplasty) and sentinel node biopsy. He possesses over 20 years’ experience in minimally invasive and breast cancer surgery and has held academic and research roles.
3. Where is The Breast Clinic located and how can international patients access it?
The clinic is located at 290 Orchard Road, #16-07/08 Paragon (Tower 1 via Lobby F), Singapore 238859.
4. What are the screening recommendations at the clinic?
The clinic emphasises early detection: their screening services include mammogram, breast ultrasound, breast MRI (for selected risk profiles) and genetic risk assessment (for BRCA mutation risk). They note that many breast cancers have no symptoms, which is why screening is important.
5. What types of benign breast conditions can the clinic manage?
The Clinic handles not only cancerous conditions but also benign breast lumps, breast pain, nipple discharge and other non-cancerous breast changes. Treatment options include conservative surgery, reconstruction if needed, and ongoing monitoring.
6. What is the “Life After Cancer” or restoration programme about?
Beyond treatment, The Breast Clinic is committed to helping restore quality of life after cancer. This includes partnering with other organisations to provide post-treatment support, reconstruction/refitting services, and holistic restoration of breast-health and life.
7. What are the clinic’s operating hours?
The clinic is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
8. What happens if an abnormal result is found after screening?
If an abnormality is detected, the next step may include diagnostic imaging (ultrasound, MRI) or a biopsy to determine whether the change is benign or malignant. The clinic then develops a personalised treatment plan, which may include surgery, reconstruction or other therapies.
9. How long does a screening appointment typically take and what should I prepare?
A standard screening visit (mammogram + ultrasound) generally takes around 15–30 minutes for the scan itself. Preparation tips include wearing a two-piece outfit (for ease of access), not using deodorant/powder on the chest/underarm area before the mammogram, and ideally scheduling around one week after your menstruation ends (if applicable).
10. Can international patients receive support for travel, accommodation or concierge services?
Yes, international or overseas patients are welcome, and the clinic assists with travel facilitation, including concierge-type services if needed, to help coordinate their visit to Singapore.
