Dr Ambikai Balan Sothinathan serves as a Consultant Urologist at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, with practice sessions also at Beacon Hospital and KPJ Sentral. He earned his MBBS from Manipal University and completed an MS in Surgery at UKM before earning his FRCS (Urology) in Glasgow and fellowship training in uro-oncology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide. He pioneered the introduction of HoLEP laser prostate surgery in Kuala Lumpur and leads the urology department at Alor Setar Hospital, where he established a tertiary care and training centre. His clinical expertise covers urinary stone disease, prostate disorders, incontinence, and urological cancers, supported by decades of compassionate, patient-centred care.
