Dr Kim Guowei’s Clinical Expertise:

Dr Kim specialises in Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric, and Robotic Surgery.

He has a strong dedication to surgical innovation and technology, actively integrating advancements like artificial intelligence and robotics into his practice to enhance patient outcomes. Notably, he successfully performed robotic telesurgery over a distance of more than 5,000 km between Singapore and Japan in October 2023. He is also recognised for his pioneering work in procedures such as Pressurised Intraperitoneal Aerosolised Chemotherapy (PIPAC) for stomach / gastric cancer and mediastinoscopy-assisted trans-hiatal esophagectomy (MATHE) for esophageal cancer. An accomplished advanced endoscopist, Dr Kim performs various intricate procedures including Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) for Achalasia, Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) for Esophageal Cancer and Stomach / Gastric Cancer, Endoscopic Full Thickness Resection (EFTR) for Gastric Submucosal Tumours, and the first Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) at NUH for bariatric / metabolic patients.
